Notting Hill House
McDowell+Benedetti
Two 5-storey Edwardian houses including back gardens and mews buildings transformed into a single family home. The design anticipates changing requirements for owner’s long term occupation.
Complete re-organisation of existing structure, circulation and accommodation: 7 bedrooms, new recreational facilities, home-office, nanny and guest suites. High quality materials, finishes and services throughout.
Full height internal void allows large artworks to be displayed and brings natural light to all levels, with a sculptural oak, leather and ‘ribbon’ steel staircase.
New-build three-storey mews, courtyard, rear extension and naturaly lit basement. Self-contained two bedroom mews apartment with green roofs and full height ‘hanging’ garden wall.
Complex building process with extensive excavations and structural work, within a highly constrained site in a conservation area.
Maggie worked on this project while at McDowell+Benedetti.
